Anna Lee McKenzie (1894–1985)
Confectionary shop owner and Baker
Anna McKenzie lived her life on the North Carolina coast, where she helped her husband in his confectionary shop, making bown dog candy and sweet potato pies. When it closed in 1966, it was cited as the North Carolina business longest in operation by a single owner.
“When the shop closed in 1993 after the death of her husband, William McKenzie, local historians estimated that it was the North Carolina business longest in operation by a single owner.”
